When you’re in the dark you deserve to be in the know.
Entergy needed a clearer way to explain products, infrastructure and services to customers without turning everything into corporate speak and sales pitches.
The first project was an explainer around Renewable Energy Credits. From there the work grew into stories about grid reliability, security lighting, energy resilience and EV adoption.
Different audiences. Different subjects. Same problem.
Make the complicated stuff easier to understand.
REC was specifically designed as a 1–2 minute explainer that could also break into shorter content. The goal was to educate environmentally conscious customers while bringing Entergy’s new brand standards into illustration and motion.

Renewed Entergy visuals for Renewable Energy Credits
REC became the first opportunity to figure out how Entergy could turn abstract energy concepts into something visual and understandable.
The process started with the story. Research led into concept development and storyboard sketches. Those sketches became a new set of illustrations built around Entergy’s brand language. Motion, typography, texture, atmosphere and sound brought everything together.
The finished animation was built as one complete story but designed from the start to break into shorter pieces around how RECs work and why someone might purchase one.
One visual language for many important topics
The illustration and motion approach continued across new Entergy products, services and audiences. The system needed enough consistency to feel like one brand but enough flexibility to make each story its own.
Self-Healing Networks used the language to explain grid technology and reliability while reinforcing the idea that Entergy was looking out for the customer.
Security Lighting shifted between business and residential audiences. The work needed to explain the service without getting sales-y. Relief and simplicity became the bigger story.
Power Through expanded into four longer animations and shorter content designed for business decision makers. The series explored energy resilience, preparedness, renewable energy and infrastructure.
EV Mythbusters took on four familiar objections to electric vehicles. Cost. Charging. Range. Environmental impact. The audience shifted again toward commercial and industrial customers thinking about fleets and charging infrastructure.
The subject changed but the system kept working.
From strategy to sketch to sound design
The animation was only a part of the process.
Each piece started with understanding the subject and finding the clearest story.
I developed the concepts and flow. Sketched and built the storyboards. Created the finished illustrations. Helped shape the scripts. Auditioned and directed voice talent. Selected music. Built the audio and sound effects. Then brought everything together through motion and final production.
That process stayed consistent as the projects became larger and the subjects changed.
The goal stayed pretty simple.
Make the complex understandable without causing tension.
Project Outcome
A fully charged system
What started as one explainer became an ongoing visual language for Entergy.
The same approach went on to explain renewable energy, grid technology, security services, business resilience and electric vehicles. Long-form stories became shorter content. New subjects could build from an established illustration and motion language instead of starting over every time.
More than motion
The work grew into a full-service creative partnership across strategy, storytelling, illustration, voice, sound and animation.
Each project had its own problem to solve. Together they became a growing library of tools for helping Entergy explain what it does and why it matters.
“I always look for ways we can partner together again.”
